the connectedness of all things
Lie down on the floor and close your eyes.
Start to breathe deeply, feeling the air flow in and out of your lungs. And start to picture yourself surrounded by water, lying in the middle of a vast, calm ocean, constantly flowing. Feel the sun warming your front, and the cool water behind you, holding you afloat. Now let your attention seep outside your edges, and feel that ocean around you, as big as you can.
Feel how that might bring up a little fear, in your belly, in your pelvis, in your diaphragm. If you feel the fear, let it flow through you, running over like a ripple of a wave. Move your limbs or head if you need to move the fear out more easily.
Now, feel how the ocean around you is holding you. It’s moving through you but is also supporting you, respecting your edges, yet still a part of you, and a part of everything.
When you’re ready, open your eyes, and start to look at the world around you. Can you feel that ‘ocean’ running through the world around you still? Look at the world, take a walk if you can, explore the world from this place a little.
When you’re ready, open your eyes. Move around a little, maybe have a bite to eat if you’re feeling spacey.
